● Environmental Development
To solve environmental problems is one of the biggest challenges our society has to tackle as a whole now, as well as in the future. We, Sigma Engineering Co., Ltd., have made some surveys and businesses concerning environmental preservation as part of environmental development activities. When engaged in environmental research, we tested soil and groundwater for possible contamination, worked out some measures to remove contaminants, and also made some proposals to help alleviate worsening environmental problems. For environmental preservation, we conducted a feasibility study for a possible afforestation project, the aim of which is to prevent frequently occurring floods and debris flows, to avert the economic loss including razed agricultural land, and to secure local residents’ safety.

● Social Development
Many emerging Asian countries that have a strong interdependent relationship with Japan in terms of economy are short of experts who can give advice about packaging technology and an efficient distribution system. We made a feasibility study for a new technical center where people can receive continuous instructions and support to learn and acquire advanced skills. The center is specifically designed to nurture human resources and help develop local economies in Asia, which will lead to the improvement of the standard of living there.

・We made a proposal that a medical facility that can meet the needs of a developing country be built.

・Some developing countries have a rapidly increasing population, especially in city areas, as their economies expand. Some of these areas suffer from water pollution, calling for the expansion and improvement of their sewage disposal facilities. We were engaged in the construction supervision of sewage disposal facilities in some of these countries.
